Inherited Protocols​

Ycash inherits Zcash's Sapling and Sprout protocols. Both protocols are defined in the Zcash Protocol Specification.

Inherited Network Upgrades​

Ycash implements the following Zcash network upgrades:

  • Overwinter (block height: 347500)
  • Sapling (block height: 419200)
  • Blossom (block height: 1100000)
  • Heartwood (block height: 1100003)
  • Canopy (block height: 1100006)

Unique Network Upgrades​

Ycash implements the follow Ycash-specific network upgrades:

  • Ycash (block height: 570000)

Details of Ycash Network Upgrade​

  • Changed mining algorithm from Equihash(200,9) to Equihash(192, 7).
  • Reduced dev fee from 20% to 5%.

Additional Changes​

At the second halving, Ycash eliminated the mandatory 5% miner contribution to the Ycash Development Fund (YDF). Miners now receive 100% of the mining reward. Miners can optionally choose to donate a portion of the reward to the YDF.
